Community Involvement
Community Involvement
FOCUS is committed to staying in tune with the community. The community charted our direction, and we will continue to develop and maintain strong community involvement. In order to do this, we encourage you to get involved in FOCUS' activities by taking part:
- as a Board member
- as a peer validator
- as a committee member
- on special projects.
Giving Input
We encourage people who use and work in services to share their views in a number of ways, including sitting on committees, responding to surveys and taking part in focus groups. For more information about how to get involved, contact us. We will be happy to talk to you.
Committees
FOCUS has two standing committees that ensure the integrity of our processes. The members of both of these committees volunteer their time. They are experts in the field and have a vast amount of knowledge that they bring to FOCUS. The committees are:
- The Accreditation Committee
- The Appeals Committee
The Accreditation Committee is a 3-person standing committee that provides the final decision as to program accreditation – granted or deferred, and determines the level to which an organization has met accreditation standards.
The Appeals Committeeis a standing committee that is convened as necessary to hear appeals.
